The formula
- Your departure time.
- Subtract your airline's check-in cut-off (it is on your booking).
- Subtract the drive: 2h30 to 3h.
- Subtract a traffic buffer of about 30 to 60 minutes.
Example
If check-in closes at 12:00, the drive takes 3h and you want a 45-minute buffer, pickup would be around 8:15.
Special cases
- International flight: more buffer.
- Long weekend: more buffer.
- Early flight: pickup can be at night. See late night.
